oisin tammas
creative director, writer, producer
A creative director and writer with a penchant for partnerships. Born from a love of skateboarding, social impact and stuff that feels real.
I’ve spent the past 15 years forging partnerships, directing brands, launching publications and making documentaries. All with a focus on subculture, social impact and sustainability. I try to make good things that feel real – uniting brands, celebrities, artists and charities that want to do the same.
As co-founder of Skateism – the first publication for the “new wave” in skateboarding – I started my career as part of a powerful cultural movement. Our magazine-slash-agency platformed the “non traditional”, while helping brands like Nike and Vans tell stories of diversity and social impact through documentary and events. Skateism ended up featured in Netflix’s award-winning Sex Education.
From there, I went agency-side, working with boutique studios and publishing houses in Amsterdam to deliver campaign creative, brand content and print media. I remained predominantly within subcultural storytelling, focusing on the denim, slow fashion, outdoors, coffee, wine, and high-end audio scenes.
I moved in-house, working as creative director, writer, producer for The Skateroom – a B Corp which offers art editions in partnership with the world’s most influential artists. For just over two years, I collaborated with celebrities, estates and institutions on limited edition drops to raise funds for skate, art and education nonprofits worldwide.
Then, Skateistan – one of the world’s largest sports for development NGOs – got in touch. They needed a creative director to oversee the next chapter in their story. For three years, I led 6/7-figure funding campaigns, brand partnerships, and worked closely with celebrity ambassadors like Tony Hawk and Sky Brown to cement Skateistan as a stand-out brand within the non-profit sector.
Today, I work closely with globally renowned specialty coffee brand, Dark Arts, forging partnerships and overseeing their new Dealer Magazine project. I’m also the creative director for ROA, an Amstedam-based independent barista oat m*lk and platform for emerging artists. I do the occasional bit of photography, too.
Want to work together? I’m available solo, or as part of my studio – working with a network for award-winning creatives.
